Privacy policy

Melbourne Rapid Rework (we, us, our) operates a product rework, compliance labelling and contract packaging facility at 19/19 Export Drive, Brooklyn VIC 3012 and the website at https://rapidrework.com.au. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can access it, correct it or complain.
1. What we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to quote, schedule and perform our services:
- Quote and triage requests — registered entity name, contact person and designation, direct phone number, corporate email address, and the consignment details you enter in the quote form.
- Phone, email and after-hours bookings — your name, contact details, carrier and vehicle details, and what you tell our operations desk about a consignment or delivery.
- Site records — our floor supervisors take a photographic audit of every inbound consignment before handling begins, and the hardstand yard and roller doors may be covered by CCTV for safety and cargo-integrity purposes. Drivers and visitors may be captured in those images.
- Website data — server logs record IP address, browser, pages requested and time of request for security and capacity planning. The site sets no advertising cookies. If analytics are enabled, this section will name the provider and what it collects.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information (such as health, biometric or criminal-record information). We collect information directly from you wherever practicable.
2. Why we collect it
- to prepare a custom quote and respond to your triage request within our stated turnaround;
- to schedule, receive, audit, rework and return your consignment, including after-hours gate authorisation;
- to issue Triage Reports, invoices and compliance records to you;
- to meet WorkSafe Victoria, Class 3 food premises, biosecurity and pallet-standard obligations;
- to protect our site, staff, drivers and cargo, and to investigate incidents or disputes; and
- to contact you about our services where you have asked us to, or would reasonably expect us to.
We only send marketing messages with your consent, and every electronic message we send includes a working unsubscribe facility, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
3. Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary for the purposes above, to:
- your nominated transport carrier, freight forwarder or customs broker, to coordinate delivery and collection;
- contractors and service providers who help us operate — for example IT and email hosting, accounting, pest control and pallet-pool operators — under obligations of confidentiality;
- retailers or distribution centres where you instruct us to deliver or certify compliance on your behalf; and
- regulators, law enforcement or courts where the law requires or authorises it.
We do not sell personal information. Our systems are hosted in Australia or with providers that may store data overseas (for example, email and website hosting in the United States). Where we disclose information to an overseas recipient we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with the APPs.
4. Storage and security
We keep personal information in access-controlled business systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Quote requests, triage photographs and site records are retained for as long as needed to perform the service, resolve any dispute and meet our record-keeping obligations, after which they are securely destroyed or de-identified.
5. Access and correction
You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing ops@rapidrework.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually within 30 days, and will not charge for a request unless it is unreasonably onerous. If we refuse a request we will tell you why in writing.
6. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, write to us at ops@rapidrework.com.au with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
7. Notifiable data breaches
If a data breach involving your personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published at https://rapidrework.com.au/privacy/ with the date it was last updated. Our website terms are at /terms/.
